Scott Grist

Program Manager

Organic Vegetable Project 

Scott Grist is the Program Manager of the Organic Vegetable Project, a 3-acre certified organic vegetable farm at the CSU, Chico University Farm. He manages all aspects of vegetable production and sales, including a CSA program, deliveries to campus, and a weekly farm stand. He is also a lecturer for the Organic Vegetable Crops class every semester, teaching young Ag students the whole scope of organic vegetable farming.

He manages an internship program, giving students valuable experience and college credit for special projects like the Aquaponics Greenhouse and the BioGas Biodigester.

Scott has a bachelor's in Geology from CSU, Chico and has worked in organic vegetable farming for almost 10 years. He gained experience from several successful organic farms that sell at the Chico Certified Farmer's Market.

He has also served his community by occupying board of director positions for local non-profits and served on the Parks Commission for the City of Chico.

He has a passion for wild, edible & medicinal plants, regularly teaching the community through nature hikes and plant walks in Bidwell Park.
